All teachers and assistants working at our school have to undergo a rigorous selection process before being hired. Their uneasy task is to bring the Duhovka Values and the Montessori Philosophy to life and put them in place in the individual classrooms. Everyone follows the Montessori Method in their work; the teachers do not form a child’s soul by using force but by exhibiting an exceptional respect towards the child’s personality and own path of development. They invest their energy in creating a logically structured and functional environment, and at the same time maintain consistency in enforcing the adherence to agreed upon class rules. Their great talent lies in their ability to inspire the children to learn and discover.
There is a Czech and a native English-speaking teacher present in each classroom. Furthermore, the school has several teaching assistants on staff who help children with special needs and some teachers who undergo a systematic preparation to become Montessori class teachers in the future themselves (most of them already being qualified elementary teachers). All teachers have completed or are close to completion of an intensive Montessori training and take an active part in furthering their professional qualification.
